Nice. Very innovative!

Great price! Would love to give that a shot, but I can't afford an aimpoint at this time.

Do you mind explaining how the mount is tightened to the trunion?  I really like the looks of this for my MD06.

The two button heads pinch on the trunion and keep it from raising. These do this with some considerable force and will not easily let go.
thank you

Any issues on a Yugo AK?  [I know some stuff doesent fit yugo rifles right]

Any chance of getting one with wings to protect the sights?

Have you cross-referenced which unlisted red dots will fit which mounts?  For example, I currently own 2 old school Tasco Optimas and a CMore STS, so which mount should I order?

Is the top cover removable without disturbing the sight?

Thanks for comming out with this, I will be ordering one soon, and depending on the answers above, maybe a couple more.

How does one take advantage of this special:

I have not cross referenced old sights. I do not know if this will fit with all known existing or ever made AK rifles . We have successfully mounted and teseted them on , romanian , bulgarain, polish, hungairian , chinese, and my personal yugo . We made the width to work with all these rifles . If there is something they dont work with it isnt from a lack of trying. lol    With all the countries and Quality variations anything is possible with a AK.
Thank you

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS!!!!!!!!  One question though, is the Burris Fastfire II mount compatible with a the first generations? I think the only difference is waterproofed electronics on the 2nd gens.

I am sorry I do not know. I have had some back wards compatibility questions and I hate to say it but I do not have any of the Gen 1 mini dots in the shop to do any checking.

I do not know . I do not stock that model of primary arms sight. I would give them a call directly on that on.

I can tell you for a fact that it is. I bought my MI rail in PA's store in person. The gentleman who sold it to me had one on display and it was on the Burris Fastfire topcover. Im assuming you are referring to their optic that is a clone of the FF.

yes the clone , I know the fast fire 2 fits we sell those here.

How does this work with opening the dust cover fo cleaning? Any rezero issues?

Also, I got one of the LT models back when they were making a similar product.  I can get some side to side movement with it that is annoying.
Do your little Trunion buttons eliminate any left to right movement of the sight?  Looks like they will but not sure???
8/13/2011 5:00:40 AM EDT
[#20]
you will be able to remove the dust cover. the trunion bolts are made to center and eliminate the side to side movement. we will be releasing a improved version to enhance some of the features from customer feed back.
thank you

I got the Mini Dot mount and the PA Micro combo from Primary Arms last week. Wasn't able to shoot it till yesterday. Every 2-3 shots it would pop up. I tightened the button heads up against the rear sight base as tight as I could get it with out pulling one of the screws off the other side, but still every 2-3 shots it would pop back up again. Also when I got home when taking the dust cover off it popped up again. I'm not discounting the possibility that I am doing something wrong, I'm new to ak's always been an ar guy. Is there something I'm missing? Its mounted on a Bulgy 74 I got from centerfire.

You're not doing anything wrong.  There is a revised base that MI is fabbing up and will be ready in a week or so.

MI will take care of you, contact their Customer service Dept and they will get one ordered for you.

Great Customer service, especially after the sale with these guys.

Troy,
Exactly what part is being reworked?

I want to know if I'm going to have to put the ak in the vice and pull out the portion that goes into where the leaf sight sits.

Is i the component that the Red dot sits on, or the portion that connects to the trunnion?

The steel trunion portion

I'm really excited about this product. I've been waiting FOREVER for LaRue to release his AK mount and finally cracked. I was online 2 days ago to just order a POSP side mount scope for my WASR and google turned up the Midwest mount. Looks awsome - even with some of the mixed reviews.

So, if we now order a base and PA MD-06 optic directly from Midwest... the new improved muonts will ship with the optic?
Is the $159.95 deal still valid with the new improved mounts?

Thanks

I will tell you this any one who thinks they will have 100 percent sucess on a ak platform dosnt know what they are talking about. We have had a couple of these come back from not fitting perfect. We also have hundreds of satisfied customers. Yes you can still purchase the optic package with the MD-06. We aslo now include a tube of blue loctite so the screws and dovetail will be going no where once dry.
thanks
