Quick heads up on my MI-T7 install.Manufacturers instructions should be followed.
Pros:Rock solid.Price.Mono look."Easy" to install. Cons:Magpul xtm panels will need modified at 3,6 and 9 o'clock positions, for full coverage. Prefer if hanguard was 3/8" or so longer. No need to have a handguard cap with trim ring. Diameter of MI-T7 with xtm panels installed is approx. 2-3/4". Thanks for the info. I installed a T7 last weekend on my pistol build. Modus, the thick black piece in the first pick from the OP is the barrel nut. You remove your current nut and put that in it's place.
The instructions are pretty good that come with the kit. Simply put, you remove the existing barrel nut/delta ring/whatever is on there, then install the provided barrel nut. A jam ring goes on the new barrel nut and the rail screws on the other end of it. There's an additional allen screw that fits in the bottom of the rail as an "anti-rotation" device. Test fit everything and then use the blue loc-tite provided and torque it down. An MI wrench would make torquing the jam nut to the rail easier, but you can use a screw driver and a hammer in a pinch. http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/8539/img5773sm.jpg |
