I have a bushmaster 14.5" M4 style carbine and was wondering if a 9" mid-length FF would fit?    I planned on cutting the delta ring off, cutting the front sight down to make a low-pro gas block, and cutting the factory front handguard cap off.   I measured out 9" from the receiver and the mid-length would end up stopping right at the end of the gas block.  So would this work or would i have to go with a 10" handguard?  Thanks.

You will have to go with a 10 inch. There is an endcap on the tube that will sit where your FSB/gas tube is. Here is a 14.5" for comparison. I think they look better than the 9" anyway.

Thanks guys...

Will the stock handle rear sight work with the MI front folding sight?

Has there been any problems with the barrel coming loose using the FF?  I remember reading about barrels coming loose on different FFs.

THE BARREL WILL NOT COME LOOSE UNLESS YOU ARE THAT ONE IN A MILLION PERSON    THAT DOES  SOMETHING WE CANT THINK OF     LOL      . THE FFR SHOULD WORK WITH THE CARRY HANDLE REAR.

Barrel nuts are torqued tightly. Also there is no way for the barrel nut to move anyway unless your gas tube happens to fall out while your shooting. It runs through the notches on the barrel nut. There is no way for it to turn.

I have two of the MI ff  rails. Both I had to index the barrel nut to line up properly. Which was done with a hammer and punch. The barrel nut is NOT easily turned.

If you get one and have any trouble, just yell.
