| I bought a Rock River Arms M4 with one of these installed, and it looked canted from the side like it wasn't installed properly. The front two screws were tightened down, but the back two weren't anywhere near flush, and it looked like the rear lower portion was sagging at an awkward angle. I took it off and tried to line it up properly, but it just seemed like the buffer tube was too big for it to get a proper fit and snap into place. While trying to get it to line up squarely against the rear of the receiver, I inadvertently stripped the top portion of the rear two screw holes trying to tighten it down (thinking it was supposed to fit tightly and would "pop" in). I even started with those two screws and didn't put the front two screws in until last. Are these designed for Mil-Spec vs. Commercial tubes or something? Is this a common problem, or could this thing have been out of spec? I've ruined my $60 sling adapter now, and am concerned about buying another one and having this happen again. I really like the design and location, but don't want to order another one if it's not going to fit this commercial tube rifle. Any thoughts or condolences, or possibly a chance of warranty coverage on this part? |
