Is the two piece forearm stable enough to put an Eotech on it?  I have an A2 car and don't really like the cantilever setup.

As stable and as solid as the two piece drop in hand guards are we would not recomend them for full on optics mounting. Since you do not like the canilever option we would recomend you using a free float hand guard.
thank you

Never thought about the free float setup.  I think I'll go that route.
Thanks

Troy,
What makes the drop-in less stable than the free float?  I'm trying to save some $ and have been looking at the drop in as they are cheaper, but my whole purpose in getting rail realesteat is to mount some type of optic so I need something solid.

Thanks

The FF units mount directly to the barrel nut, so they are fixed to the barrel a lot more securely than the drop-in units, which are held by tension between the delta ring and the handguard cap (which allows a limited degree of play).

If you want to pay more than the MI FF Unit, but have a drop-in unit, the TROY MRF-DI is an option, but the MI FF is more than adequate, and looks great on a CAR-A2, I'd go with that.
