I'll work on finding out specifically what the difference is.
For one, the PIG backer is made specifically for the soft armor pocket on the PIG and is one size only. The soft armor backers are size specific depending on what size you need for your carrier. What vest are you thinking of putting these in? SOS |

The standard Velocity System plate backers correspond to the size of the plate it is made for- i.e. the Medium Plate Backer is the same shape as the Medium SAPI/ESAPI plate.
The PIG Plate Backer is made by Velocity Systems specifically for the PIG PC, and is approximately the same shape as an XL SAPI/ESAPI but shorter by about 1". It is the only size available for and recommended for the PIG PC. HTH!

I am either looking at the PIG of the Mayflower APC. I don't know if I need the medium or large APC though, their sizing chart is kind of wierd. I am 5' 10" 195 with a 46" chest, I have been thinking about the APC in large with Medium cumberbund.
