Hi,
I have a new piston kit and unsure of what the settings are. Is there a guide? I am not using a suppressor.

Thank you.

The CMMG piston system only has an on and off setting, as it comes from the factory. If you press the detent in and unscrew the metering plug, you will see it has a hole through one side to admit gas to the piston chamber. In operation this hole faces down in order to line up with the gas port. Take a paint pen, or a dot of paint, and mark the outside end of the metering plug on the opposite side of the hole. Now, when you reassemble the piston system, screw the plug all the way in, then back it out till the paint mark is straight up. Turning it a notch either way will shut the gas system off.

If you later decide to use a suppressor, or require an altered gas flow, you can drill a different size hole in the metering plug at the 2 or 4 o'clock position, taking into account the lessened depth ( by a quarter turn ) of the plug. Make sure to mark the alignment of your different metering holes with other colors of paint!
