I have a 10.5 SBR that I use as my work gun and I'd like to setup a CMMG dedicated .22 upper to allow me to train more.
I've looked on their site and though they offer a lot of options for 5.56 it seems you are limited on the setups for .22 Will CMMG sell me a .22 upper that has a DD or LaRue rail, flat top receiver and 10.5 or similar length barrel...?? I had them build me a 5.56 upper a few years back and it runs like a top. |
| Currently, the shortest .22lr barrel available is a 6.5"; mainly for those who want an SBR with a suppressor mounted to maintain the short profile with a suppressed training platform. As for aftermarket hand guards, we unfortunately no longer offer them. We do now offer our KeyMod hand guards in the .308 size, and very soon the carbine-length 5.56 size will be available. |

Best bet is to build it your self.
Have a barrel cut by ADCO. Use the CMMG stainless BCG, a must in my opinion. Keep in mind, a .22 barrel has about 1.3" inside the receiver. So a 10.5" barrel is going to be short in a 10" hand guard. It's very easy to build an upper with a minumum of tools. Dave N |

I'll probably order it from CMMG and have it cut, crowned and threaded at Adco. I currently own an Advanced Armament Scarab .22 supressor. I may keep an A1 birdcage on it most of the time but it would be nice to unscrew the A1 and install the Scarab occasionally. Any issues with threading compatibility you can think of..? Stainless CMMG bolt setup..... Check Upper Receiver? Does the CMMG bolt setup use a standard upper? I've looked at pics of some uppers using an abbreviated looking ejection port. Is this the case or do I just locate a quality built flat top upper receiver ( probably from CMMG) and I'm good to go? Probably watch for a nice used rail system in EE and either an Aimpoint or Primary Arms T1 clone What parts am I leaving out..? What magazines would work the best in this setup? CMMG, Black Dog, etc....?? Thanks for all your help in this...... |

Charging Handle, Possibly TACCOM reliability parts. What magazines would work the best in this setup? CMMG, Black Dog, etc....?? I've had good luck with both. it's whatever you can find basically. Likely BDM. Thanks for all your help in this...... SpecOps-13 |
