Again? They have never been released to the public yet.

I just gave up after waiting 6+ months and bought some Noveske panels.  When I get them installed on Wednesday I will post a picture.

I found this post which shows how they fit so am fairly confident I will like them.  It sucks they are more expensive than the BCM panels and even KAC panels (which I had to sand to fit) but at least they exist.

I really like BCM and love my KMR's but I just cannot fathom how it is taking so long to release these panels.  They aren't exactly comparable to designing a complex machine I wouldn't think.

My theory is there must be too much tolerance in their rails and they are having a hard time finding a way to get panels to work, on every rail. I have no inside info to believe this, it is just my theory. There is no reason on this planet that justifies "they are just not happy". There is a problem and they are not telling the public. This is why the most asked for item from BCM since the KMR release is not complete. Sucks that we have to deal with this, I think a KAC KMR is in my near future because of this. If I don't see an awesome product by SHOT, I give up.

Why would anyone loose sleep over BCM not releasing rail panels, I don't care if they ever have any, that's not why most bought their rail.

What would you do if you didn't get a napkin with your burger.

I'm sure rail panels are not at the top of the list of things to do at BCM.

Tell everybody at KAC I said hi.

I have 3 KMR rails without any covers. The things have barely even gotten warm to the touch let alone so hot that I need rail covers.

As an update to my post above I did get the Noveske panel kit and it worked great!

I am out of the market now but am still confused on the delayed release.

I want panels for grip and protection for than heat as my guns don't shoot hundreds of rounds in a day.

I've done about half of my KMR's with the Noveske panel kits. They are pretty simple to install, just read the directions. Use an Ergo rail tool or anything else that is made from hard plastic or rubber. I buy cheap plastic potato peelers from wal-mart and just cut off the blades. Its actually a good multi-purpose handguard tool that doesn't mar or scratch your finish. Anyway, when I get home later tonight I'll post some pics.

Why do I want rail covers?

I'd like to protect the finish of the rail and keep the keymod holes from being marred up from use. Moving on and off barricades can scratch the hell out of them over time. It's not about heat for me, because I've never found the heat to be an issue at all.

Gun got hot the other day.

I don't think its the KMR, I think its the ELW barrel so covers would be great.

Really or is this sarcasm?  Ive been waiting for over six months. yes my rifle works without them but protection and the slight diameter gain these would add are needed on my rail choice.

No word from BCM at all during SHOT apparently.

That's deeply disappointing.

I don't see why they don't just take them off their site. If the design was so flawed that it's taken a whole year or more to fix, wouldn't the improved product look quite a bit different? So why keep the image up? But yeah, the lack of updates is ridiculous, especially considering the last thing we heard was that they were to be released last spring.
