I submitted an email to your website concerning this question and haven't heard back. Maybe someone reading this can answer my question.
The "J" hook that makes contact with the upper's detent has a gap of aprox .030" to the body of the handle. The hook is held there by the stop machined into the finger hold under spring pressure, so it can not move any closer to the handle. Is this the specified dimension? Why I ask is, installed into my upper, the Gunfighter handle will unlatch and kiss the tip of my nose after the last shot, empty mag (in other words, with the bolt held open). I suspect that the handle is unlatching every shot, but the cycling bolt causes the handle to move forward to the latch position and I just don't feel it. The handle "stays latched" if the last shot is without the mag, and the bolt cycles forward. The Adams Arms handle supplied with the upper works without any issues. The clearance between the hook and the body of the handle is .000". I only have those two handles in my possession to compare but a fellow poster checked his aftermarket handle and it too had no clearance between hook and body. Thanks, Mike |
