My AR is basically a SWMP15 lower , CMMG parts kit, BCM UPPER ,BCM BARREL,BCM BCG , what ammo do you recommend ? It is .5.56 nato barrel , I have put 250 rounds of Wolf 55gr .223 through her and it didnt go all too well , many ftf , cheap ammo I suppose i also shot about 100 rounds of 5.56 pmc and it shot well , so just saying the 5.56 did better , but I know theres good .223 ammo as well , plus I was wondering the company line on Russian ammo as a whole ? My Bulgarian AK can eat anything thrown at it , the AR seems more finicky and thats fine , because the AR shoots straighter than the AK , the AK realistically is what the leftwinger communist anti gun crowd call and assault weapon , because if on the assault I want my AK with me , If im clearing out a building ,I want the AK with me!
The AR I am find is more of a covert ops type weapon which is fine because it suits the nature of the combat your in , Mine is an M4 , and its not likely you will shoot 300 rounds in day through (it gets hot in a hurry) , I plan on building a AR 10 in .260 Remington as soon as the endo of the world zombie craze dies down a bit! PLus when we get obongo out of office. Paul Ryan is a life member of the NRA , is anyone aeven a basic member of the NRA in Obongos outfit of losers? |

BCM tunes their gas ports for full power 5.56 ammo. I own three BCMs and have only had two FTFs (Czech SS109, A2/A4 clone) out of a conservative 3-4k rounds fired through them. I've also had poor experience with Wolf ammo through my BCM rifles, in my A2/A4 clone they generally don't have enough pressure to cycle. PMC is also a little on the weak side of 5.56 ammo. If your going to run a BCM you're going to have to pony up to using full power 5.56 (its not that much more expensive). BCM doesn't build uppers for commercial use ARs they build fighting ARs. As such they are tuned to run the ammo one would use in a gunfight. When BCM means, "safe curators need not apply" that's how they build them and that's their intended market. |
