I really like the look of the Magpul/BCM upper with the 16 inch middy gas with rifle length MOE handguards and a faux front sight ala the old Bushy Dissapators. I had an idea on how to make it look even slicker.
Take the faux front sight and mill it down to where it is only the rear attachment 'band' on the barrel. Since the front sight base is really doing nothing more than holding the handguard cap, I would think that the single attachment point would be strong enough to hold it in place. I noticed that the MOE handguard envelops the rear part of a FSB, so if you strip it down, it disappears into the handguard.
Solidius was nice enough to allow me to use and then mod his drawings of an upper so modified. Thanks Brother!

Paul- What do you think about that? One less cut on the barrel for the faux FSB front pin! I know it is a just a cosmetic change, but I think it makes a nice looking package.
Now if we could just get the Magpul guys to make a rifle MOE handguard with a built in pop front sight ala the KAC rails. Maybe just getting the Rifle MOE handguards is enough. The front MBUS will still work, correct?
Thanks again Solidius for allowing me to use the illustration.
