Sorry for the newb question. I purchased a bcm bcg for my current build. What is the supplied o-ring for and where does it go?

The o-ring goes over the extractor spring. With the new spring and o-ring in place, press down on the assembly as you put it back in. It's going to take a little more effort to get back in with the new components.

should shoot fine without it

So it does it come with installed already? Or is this just an option for me to install if need be.

This kit also includes the new black extractor insert, standard on all M4, M4A1, Mk18 carbines and the recent new standard on M16A4 rifles. The BCM Extractor Spring is so strong the Mil-Spec Crane O-Ring will probably not be needed, but it is included.

Mine did not come with it installed. My BCG works fine without it so I haven't put it in. I put it in my parts box in case I needed it someday.
