I was told you could take my factory Sig 1911 barrel, add an extension, and then thread it for suppressor use. Is that true, and if so how much?

there are several options available for after market, extended threaded barrels.

Check out Storm Lake barrels or get a longer 1911 barrel and send to ADCO.
