Hey bigbore, i know this isn't exactly pertaining to buying a product (I already bought the RRA SS barrel from you), but I have a question. Would Hoppes #9 cleaning solvent be bad for cleaning the inside of the Rock River Stainless barrel? I heard a lot of chatter about ammonia and such hurting the bore. Your input? Also, what about using Phosphor bronze brushes?Thank you!

Ok, first, the "Ammonia" in cleaning solvents (any) is Ammonium Hydroxide and is not corrosive to stainless steel.  Ammonia (pure) is gaseous at room temps, and over prolonged exposure, can be corrosive to stainless, but for obvious reasons, is not used in cleaning solvents.

My guess is, someone down the road read that ammonia was corrosive to stainless, well  it is, but Ammonium Hydroxide is not. Hoppes #9 all you want in stainless steel.

Any brush softer than the barrel material will be fine. So, just do not use steel or stainless steel brushes, and you will be fine.
