I have a permanent Aggressive Phantom F.H on a Bushy with the silver soldering and would like to put on a Non Aggressive Phantom F.H,
how long should it take a gunsmith and what would be a fair charge, I already have the F.H. . Thanx for any help |

We charge $40 to mill them off (FH is destroyed). We leave the threads able to be reused. Probably would take 1 hour worth of labor, or so, to remove and salvage. So it would depend on the smith's hourly rate (ours is $75 per hour).
To put it back on depends on whether it needs to be permed back on. For the Phantom, it is $30 to perm (we weld over pin). No charge if just need to be torqued. 
Note: The solder that is on the barrel, behind the shoulder, stays there unless mechanically removed. Then it needs to be re-finished, and that usually has charges associated with it. |
