I have Remington Model 700 VTR .308, the one with the triangular barrel and integrated muzzle brake.  I would like to suppress this rifle and was wondering if you guys could tell me if it’s possible to thread this barrel to accept a flash hider for a Q.D. set up?  I haven’t been able to find any tech data for this barrel, but just by looking at I don’t think there is enough material there on the flat sides to be able to thread it.  But, I thought I would ask someone who knows a lot more about it than I do before I try and replace the barrel or buy a new rifle.

It does not look as though we can put standard 5/8x24 threads on it.

It would probably be possible to install a threaded adapter to bring it to 5/8x24, but it would end up being pretty pricey. That would run around $250 plus shipping.

These are "pretty sures" so no promises until we look at it.

10-4

Going to price a new barrel and go from there.  Thanks

How would you put a thread adapter on it, weld it?

No, it would be fine threaded, then the adapter would be Loctited on. You would probably not even know it it wasn't the barrel.

Edit: Remember, bolt gun barrels are Short Chambered, and will need to be finish reamed for headspace. We do not do that.
