Would it be possible to shave the fsb on a Noveske mid length barrel and pin a fsb at the rifle length position for a dissipator set up?  If so.. Are my calculations correct for the cost (130 for fsb pinning + 30 for shaving original fsb)?

Thanks..

That is correct, as long as the new FSB area will accept a .750 FSB (diameter is big enough).

If it is not big enough, then you would need a contour FWD of gas block ($65) to .625, then you would need to supply a .625 FSB, then the FSB install would be $90 (instead of $130).

 Clear as mud, right.

Would you happen to know if a Noveske N4 light barrel will accept a .750 fsb near the muzzle for a dissy style? I know that Noveske has a slight taper running the whole length of the barrel if I am not mistaken.

Thanks...

I do not know offhand, but Noveske would.

Reply from Noveske:

The barrel is .68" from the front sight to the muzzle.

Still doable?

Well, you could use a .625 FSB. The barrel would need to be contoured from the muzzle to the FSB location, but yes, it is doable. Cost would be $65 for contour and $130 for FSB install (if only barrel sent). If sent as a complete upper, then a Dis/Re-assemble (std = $35, FF =$50) would be required as well.

Okay thanks... To change gears for a minute, is there any chance that ADCO will put out any barrels in 6.8?

No chance in the near future. Get 6.8 barrels from White Oak Armory.

Wouldn't be better to order 7 barrels, or is the .8 for an SBR

You do realize that that sounded funnier in your head, right?
