Hello all. The question that I have is....I have a standard 20 inch HBAR barrel and want to get it re contoured to Govt. dimensions. Also, when the barrel gets reparked, can I have the FSB removed and have the bare steel parked underneath the FSB as well? How much am I looking to spend on the whole project? Thanks in advance.

As long as you do not want the gas block area re-profiled as well, then you will need a Dis/Re-assemble for Std upper = $35, Contour to LW on entire barrel = $95, and actual shipping = (usually around $15 to $18). Note in comments section at checkout to park under FSB.

I wanted the barrel the A2 Govt. profile so would you have to machine that area? So the work that I want done is;
Re profile barrel to A2 Govt. type Parkerize the entire barrel, included the bare metal underneath the FSB where the factory neglected to do that 
And since I will be sending the whole upper, barrel and parts, assemble the upper so I could drop in on the lower. Should I send BCG with the upper as well for test fire and head space? Thank you for the reply sir

We do not HAVE to do the FSB area, it just will not be precisely A2 Gov't. Also, we do not taper contour (real Gov't profile is tapered). What we can do is contour the barrel to LW (approx .625 dia) both under the HG and fwd of the FSB, leaving the FSB area as is, and re-installing your FSB (repark is included in the service and we will do under the FSB at no extra charge) for the above quote.
If you want the whole thing pencil barreled (.625 at FSB), then you will have to procure a .625 FSB (CMMG and Bushmaster sell them) and order a FSB swap ($90 using your supplied FSB) in addition to the above quote. Personally, i would just leave the FSB area as is, and use the other $90 for ammo.
Edit: No need to send BCG. There is no change in headspace. |
