I'm getting a MAG424 hand guard and I am going to put a vertical grip on it but I can't figure out which one is the correct one. It appears that there are two different ones and I don't know which one is right for this hand guard.
There is the MAG597 or the MAG413. They look kinda the same to me so any added info would be greatly appreciated.

The MAG424 is the Carbine M-Lok Hand Guard. You want the MAG597 M-Lok MVG Vertical Grip. The other VFG is for the older MOE Hand Guards.
