I'd bet today's lunch that this has been asked before, but is there a replacement for the socket that would be rotation limited?  Looked under the accessories on the Magpul website, and even at IWC, and I'm not seeing anything.  Or, is there a relatively easy way to modify the OEM socket to "become" rotation limited?

Interested as well. This is my only STR complaint.

I did find this thread, but I honestly can't picture how the item mentioned works. They just look like allen head set screws to me.

This product from IWC is probably going to be your best option:

I've used it on STR stocks and it works well.

I've got one on my stock and it's been OK. Sometimes I get the male QD stud in halfway and I believe it's fully seated only for it to pop out. It seems like the male end will bottom out on part of the stock not allowing a clean connection.

I don't trust it and that's a problem for me on my sling. I may look at doing a cup/female replacement on the stock itself.

I think that if I was going to add something to my existing STR (in a new location), I'd drill one of Noveske's cups into the storage area on the same side.  I've used them on a PS90 and they're pretty solid and easy to install.
