[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Mossberg Update - finally done! (Page 1 of 2)
|
My 590A1 has been patiently waiting for the release as well.
Black has been my top color but OD green could look really nice. I'll still be first in line for when these come out. I've recently been checking every couple of days hoping it came out a little early. |
| Has anyone heard what the length of pull will be? Or the range of LOP, since I assume it will be adjustable. The only thing I don't like about my 590A1 is the that the stock is too long at 13" or so. I know there are some shorter aftermarket stocks, but I'm holding on for the Magpul. |

I know there are some shorter aftermarket stocks, but I'm holding on for the Magpul. no clue on the measured lop for the 500 and feel same about its length. i handled a magpul 870 & liked it but it wasnt great for what i intend to use this 500 for so i just ordered the smallest "tactical stock adapter" i could find for my 500 and am gonna do a moe or ctr telescopic with a magpul pistol grip. |

I've recently been checking every couple of days hoping it came out a little early. nice! glad im not alone. i have a couple black guns already and thought something different would be kinda cool. i havent decided what color im going to go with yet but 100% would be OD if offered. just not sure how i feel about tan on a blued gun |
|
I'd be in for OD as well, however from what I recall, color popularity went neck and neck between black and FDE then down to OD and foliage a ways behind that.
My guess is OD is a slim chance as they didn't do it for the 870 and they're probably more concerned about making their relocation sooner than later. |

If they don't release them in green you could always rit dye a set of the flat dark earth ones Ill have to look into that cuz the more i think about the OD, the more I want it. I can get a stck & grip from magpul in OD so would the forend match & hows that dye hold up? |

Did you duracoat all the parts or just the forend? Also, How does that stock/buttpad setup do with the recoil? |

It is heavy. Go to the gym. The recoil isnt bad at all. The muzzle brake reduces alot and I put on an enhanced butt pad. Only duracoated the forend, stock, cheek riser (necessary with this setup), and grip are all factory OD. The grip is a MIAD with the backstrap that doesnt have the tang. You could use a regular MOE and just cut off the tang as well. |

Their website shows the forends are shipping to dealers, but the description only mentions the 590/590A1. No where does it say that the forend works on the 500.
Does anyone know if it works on the 500? I found a website that is selling the stock and forend as a combo (out of stock right now) and it list them as 500/590/590A1 |

BUMP! these were introduced at last years SHOT show! ANY status or timeframe for the FDE mossberg parts? They are at SHOT they were at shot LAST YEAR TOO! i am ocd'ing this project a lil too much right now but i'd like for it to be done by spring. |

I was told via email from MagPul the stock in FDE is not even being produced yet. ![]() I was told that "colors are typically introduced a few weeks following the black". I guess that rep wasnt aware of the black ones being released months ago. I boxed up my shotgun project and suppose i will finish it whenever i can. I def wont be planning any projects with magpul parts until they are in hand from here on out tho. |

Is there any possibility what so ever for OD Green SGA parts? For either 590 or 870? If not can anyone advise on the best rite-dye to get OD green from FDE? This thread is why i decided to go FDE with this build so in the future i could go to OD green if i wanted to (or even camo if i really wanted to be artistic) http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?47928-Do-It-Yourself-Different-color-PMAGs-and-other-polymer-plastic-items&highlight=rit%20dye |

Any update on FDE? Been waiting on the FDE but might just go with black. just do black! i very much wish i had just duracoated my mossy od green & bought black components, it would be done and in use instead of sitting in a box with a layer of dust on it (only waiting for the fde forend). only reason i did fde was because it was "only a few weeks out" over 6 months ago... lesson learned, the hard way |

Will the OD green come out ever?I only ask because I have a shotgun waiting at AIM PRO to be built... Yes its sitting there in Colorado... I was originally told (last yr) that the shotgun furniture was only going to be available in black, fde & orange. OD was originally what i wanted so i ended up doing fde, knowing i can rit dye it green (or camo) if i decide. Problem is, its been a yr since thiese were introduced & still nothing. Colored cellphone cases are out tho, priorities...[

I thought everyone said you lose the heat shield when you install the forend. Others have said it won't fit. Did you modify the forend? |

http://imageshack.com/a/img836/9098/aztp.jpg Mine is done! The FDE is growing on me but i think im gonna grab an AFG2 or a MVG for it & maybe a flashlight. Cant wait to shoot this thing. I'm a big Mossberg fan, and I like the new Magpul shotgun furniture - but I can't see how a PG can work well on a Mossberg due to the safety location. Can you get to it OK? |

Safety isnt in a great spot but i can easily get it with my thumb or forefinger to it if i have to but this is going in a shotlock safe behind a door at my cottage. Safety will be left off. |
