[ARCHIVED THREAD] - MBUS Front Sight - Mounting Question

Just got a MBUS Front Sight. I noticed on the instructions it says not to put it on a railed gas block if you have one. Why is that?

Because plastic and high temperatures don't mix.

Also most railed gas blocks are of lower height than the upper receiver rail plane.
