What compensator is Chris Costa using in his Magpul Dynamics DVD's using?   I looks like a solid comp, but when light is behind it, it has slits.  I looks like it has vertical and horizontal cuts to make it look like a bunnch of squares.

Sorry for the description, but I am going on memory!

Yes, that's it.  They weren't even commercially available until the demand started building for them due to the Magpul DVDs.

At one time there was talk of a steel version that would be less expensive than the inconel, but more recently KAC has said they aren't going to do that.

I've never asked Chris what he buys and what he's comp'd or what the deal is on some of the gear that he uses, but when he talks about stuff you can tell that he has bought a lot of it.  Some stuff is obviously T&E gear, but in the way that he talks about his personal gear, you can see dollar signs in his eyes sometimes this stuff didn't just fall off the back of the truck.

For what a KAC SR25 pattern rifle goes for, what's another $400?  Days worth of ammo in a class.

From the way Chris & Travis was talking about it, it did sound like they did buy some of their stuff on their own $$.  Not everything they get for free just because they are famous.  That being said, they do get some really cool T&E stuff.

I thoguht the cost associated with it was more related to its production (EDM) as opposed to its material? Did i hear wrong?

It's a combination of both.  The material is expensive, and it's difficult as well as time and equipment intensive to work with.

Definitely it was both.. but the EDM makes the material look cheap.  I actually asked a for a quote to see how much it would cost.. the guy quoted me for EDM $500.  WTF!  After hearing that type of quote.. I stop even looking at the brake as expensive.

BTW I believe the current ones are not EDM anymore. They are using a cutting wheel of some sort.  At least that's what I remember reading from a post that Trey or Kevin posted.

Doesn't that brake come with the Knights suppressor, and act as its mount/blast baffle?

No it does not come with a suppressor.  The TT can be used with a suppressor and I know a few people who are using it, but KAC said it would void the warranty of the can/TT.  WTF

Why have an indexing notch for the suppressor then?

Because it can be used with a suppressor and designed to use the KAC suppressor, but questions is why would they put out a disclaimer that if you do, they don't warranty the suppressor/brake.

They never intended to release it to the public, but we complained enoguh that they released it. They told us up front that it will cost a lot and it will void its warranty if used with a NT4.

That shouldnt be a concern though, they've only had problems with full auto supressed abuse. If you can afford to do that, you can buy another 3T.

They are heavy, but they are good at what they were designed to do, directing the blast downrange on shorter barrels.

Other than that, they're just barrel counterweights...

I've got one on a 7.5" barrel, and it makes it bearable to shoot and keeps the fillings in your teeth...

I have the TT and the BC 2.0, very close in performance.  BTW there is a LEO discount for the TT.
