I know you guys don't comment on new products. But here is my idea anyway.

Instead of your strike plate on a UBR, you could machine an insert that would have a 1913 Rail on the bottom for a monopod. This would be similar to what is offered on the PRS.

Not a bad idea. If you're going to put a rail on the bottom, how about an adapter that will allow you to mount a magazine to either side of the stock? I know ... It's a niche product probably not worth R&D resources and tooling costs; but it would still be nice.

That one has been brought up a few times since the UBR came out.

+1 on this product idea.

I have been thinking of modifying a Jager Strike Plate by milling off the "meat tenderizers" to create a flat surface.  Then, I'd drill and tap the plate for installation of a picatinny accessory rail that would screw on and allow the use of an Accu-Shot rail-mount monopod.  Shouldn't be that tough to do (with the proper equipment/tools).

ETA:  I don't think the Magpul unit will work for modification purposes because I don't think that there is enough "meat" on the bottom of the strike plate, along with the lower location of the sling loop, to mill it flat and secure the rail without compromising strength, etc.

Has anyone thought about maybe asking Larue about this? Since they did make the whole POD thing?

This sounds like a great idea.

I hope Magpul or someone comes out with this soon.
