Monday night at the work bench. Had an idea.
Started with this: DPMS "Stowaway" pistol grip plug for an A2 grip. $3.99 at Midway

Cut the left side angle off with a small utility knife. Then angle cut the corners.

Then cut a small wedge from the other side, (now our front)

Now I inserted the plug and marked where to cut the long tab, (the left side in original first pic)
then, cut away to form the shape of the MVG.

A little sanding with a 180 pad and there ya go as shown. The short lip remains untouched and acts as a tab to remove.

What did I store in there? That 12' coil  of paracord...stuffed it right in!

that is pretty bad ass.  IMO magpul should have made one of these already I would love to keep some batteries in the vertical grip and a spare bolt/firing pin in the pistol grip

Was it altered/dyed in some way? It doesn't look clear cut OD green.

Nope, stock Magpul, right out of the box. Might be the lighting.

Here's pics of the complete rifle:

Maybe it's the lighting but to me it looks like a dark mineral earth/brown color. I don't see very much green at all. Looks cool though!
