Hello,

I have been looking to purchase a PRS stock to replace my A2 stock.  I currently have a one inch spacer made by DPMS to increase my length of pull as I am 6'11".  I wish to use this spacer with the PRS.  I read the installation instructions for the PRS and read the bit about only using the vented screw thats included, otherwise improper function or damage will result.  This screw is too short to work with my additional 1".

My questions are:
1.  What does the hollow screw do that makes it necessary?
2.  Woud a custom made screw do the job?
3.  What parts would likely break if I didn't use the hollow screw?
4.  What other solutions exist, if any, to substantially increase the LOP while using the PRS?  The extended rubber butt pad isn't quite enough.

Here is a ink the DPMS spacer I am using:  http://www.brownells.com/1/1/40490-ar-15-buttstock-extender-ar-15-stock-extension-dpms.html

I did a forum search for this question and din't find anything, but I was unable to search past farther than 30 days.

Thanks for anyone's insight/input on this!

I would say that you need to lose the spacer, But if you insist on keeping it you can find gun-drilled screws at Mcmaster-Carr in the size you need. The hole in the screw is for venting water out of the buffer tube if it is submerged. I'm 6'2" and my LOP is adjusted about 5 clicks out.
