Anybody know what belt mag holders that Travis and Chris are rocking in the Art of the Tactical Carbine? I am looking all over the net for these, and cant seem to find them, but I need some reliable belt holsters that can accommodate the HK 30 rd mags or Magpul 30 rd mags.
Thanks for the help, Damp |

I believe they use Raven Concealment mag pouches.
Here's the RC Website Here's where you can order them from: The Malabar Front Just be advised they have a pretty lengthy turnaround. I ordered a holster setup for my 1911 last year and it took 41 days for turn around. They are claiming a 12-13 week turn around right now. It's good stuff though. Well worth the price and wait. ETA: After reading the above post, I'll retract my answer. I'm not sure what they're wearing in AOTTC, but I know they've been using RC for their sidearm stuff. |

Correct, They used the Raven for pistol and blade tec for AR. Also Costa has his first mag bullets forward and a secondary facing rear. My other 0.02 is Comp-tac is a great range holster too. I don't know about the past, but check out the last pic (8/3/2010) in USMC03s "Carbine 1&2 pic" thread. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=2&f=124&t=191945&page=3 He has his primary (looks like) bullets forward in a Raven, and secondary with bullets forward. Costa in the class also said that he doesn't put a primary or secondary back-up mags in front of his secondary because he doesn't want it to mess with his draw stroke. Notice also in USMC03s pic that the secondary mag holder has the "Magpul cut" on the leading edge to reduce digging into your side. I think they called their belts 'riggers belts', but they are pretty thin as you can see in the pic. There are also "Magpul cut" holsters that have zero cant and no appreciable sweatguard with the same relieving in the front. I have used Bladetechs and Ravens and Minatour IWB set ups. Ravens are the heat. Due to the long lead times I started to make my own Kydex, but after you start, you realize all the small things that Raven does- and does so well- they are worth the wait. Travis and I spent 10 minutes comparing real Raven stuff to the 3rd generation stuff I had made- that is humbling. |

Thanks for all the feedback fellas. And yes, as expected, I understand why certain individuals make ignorant statements about gear considerations. I appreciate the fact that people assume I am purchasing the gear just because its in the DVD, but the fact of the matter is, it is something that I think would work for me, and I like the idea of mags on the hip vs. vest. To each their own. I have purchased the BladeTech mag holders since then and they work just as expected. I have not yet ordered the Raven holsters as I am changing sidearms for my carry needs, but I will probably switch to them when I complete the transition.
Thanks again. damp |

Since this got bumped...
I ordered my Raven stuff in late May with and estimate of 70-75 days at that time. Currently over 80 days and the email I got yesterday sounds like it'll be closer to 100 by the time it ships. Not ranting, just an FYI on current order ––> ship timelines... |
