Found these in a local Scheels Sporting Goods store, labeled Pro Mags Plastic AR-15 Magazine. Even have the 5.56x45 in a rectangle where the PMags have them in a bullet. And get this, they are listed at $20.49 a piece

The only visual difference is the follower which is black and bullet shaped, and floor plate. I think these are dangerous to those who have only kind of heard of PMags or seen one once and thinks that a "Pro Mag Plastic AR15 Mag" is a PMAG. Buyer Beware!

Pro Mag AR-15 Mag

It's not a "knock-off" in the strictest definition of the term.  Pro Mag is a reputable company and they are not representing these as P-Mags although they do look awfully close and I'm sure with all the lawsuits being thrown around that Magpul could probably make a strong case, but who knows?

At most they could have a trade dress complaint.  The believe, and I could be wrong here, the patent Magpul has is on the formula for their polymer and not for a plastic AR-15 magazine.

Company instantly added to my black list.  I hate thieves!  copyrighted or trademarked infringement is theft, period.

Maybe, but their product development does nothing but make California look more like China. (Promag based in California)

It doesn't take many brain cells to copy a good idea, it takes even fewer to fuck that concept up.

Personally, I don't see anything reputable or honest about riding the [successful] coattails of your competition.  It's parasitic and assumes that the buyer is a mental deficient.

I can see selling a lower quality product for a lower price, but the price that Promag demands for these are comparable to regular MagPul magazines.

By so closely copying MagPul polymer mags, Promag has demonstrated a desperate and low business decision.

As a result, I simply cannot buy Promag products with any sort of expectation of quality or product support.

The old adage "you get what you pay for" doesn't ring true with this one.  You're getting much less than what you pay for in this case.

It will suck for Magpul when these Pro Mags fail and people mistake them for the real thing.

You're allowed to manufacture hi-capacity magazines in California?

Unfortunately they are the ONLY source of P225 mags now, the factory mags have all dried up.  If you do find factory mags they're usually 40-60 dollars.  Their only "up-side" is they pretty much make a mag for everything under the sun.  I don't buy their mags if I can find an alternative at a reasonable price.  But if I do end up buying them, I buy one at a time and do the "does it work? (y/n) if n then what can I do to make it work?" process on them  (usually just buying Wolf +5% power springs solves the issue, and once I had to change the shape of a follower.

Ok, how about "established".  They've been around for a while, for better or worse.  Honestly, for the money I would (and do) just buy actual P-Mags.
