Hey guys, I was wondering, does the MS2 come in/ did it ever come in OD? I saw a few pics around the net and a few places had them listed for sale (all of which are out of stock) So I was wondering if they were real or not. Any help would be appreciated.

as far as i know they are only available in FDE and Black. The ms3 may be available on od when it comes out. There is a airsoft OD version, so beware.

How much does the airsoft version really differ?

I was tempted to pick up an airsoft Magpul RVG in OD.

Why is it that they cater to the airsoft folks before the real folks?

Magpul-PTS is a Hong Kong based company that produces licensed Airsoft replicas of our US made 'real-steel' products.  They make their own decisions on what they want to build.

Ah, yeah. I've seen multicam rit dye jobs. I just did a rit dye job on my XTM panels today. Pics later upon completion of rifle.

Seeing as not many Magpul items are "steel"  :) , how would the function of the product be different?

Could be wrong, but I think that the "real-steel" is a euphemism for the ever-popular "real McCoy" in this instance.

In which case, the function would be VASTLY different.  Aesthetics=/=performance.

I bought a MS2 directly from Magpul and the color was called Camo. It's not camo and is actually a solid color and I would say it's looks greenish tan..I believe it was a limited run..

I am familiar with the airsoft lingo :)

But exactly how vastly different could a hunk of polymer injected into a mold differ from another hunk of polymer injected into a mold made to look like the other hunk, especially when the replicating company holds a license from the original co?

Of course I don't expect Magpul to say it's the same, but we're talking mass-produced plastic parts on both sides here.
