So are they not safe to use in ARs?

im sure they are fine.. as UTM is almost identical in dimension to regular ammo

UTM being a rimfire cartridge is safe already, and the blue magazines are there (most likely) to match the UTM BCG, and look even more like a training setup

ETA: the only problem i could think of is if the inside dimension of the magazine was shorter for UTM only

ETA2: pictures of round difference

That UTM stuff is pretty damn cool.

Used it at HDSOC for a PSD class.

UTM MMRs stings like a bitch, I prefer to get hit with Simunition FX 9mm cartridges.

I can't find a hi qual photo but the one on their website looks like it won't work with regular ammo. Look at the inside front of the mag, spacer bar or something like it looks like it would block the longer ammo.

They work but are not intended for the operational athlete to use during live fire.. We have ran some during our traing courses and they feed and function fine....

Good to know.

I built my son a blue AR with parts from CAV ARMS. Even have some blue magpuls, the blue Pmags complete the package.
