Since Travis Haley is a Former Marine, does Magpul offer any discounts to Marines? You know, we do take care of our young Marines ;)

They do offer a military discount. My understanding is there are many veterans (from all branches of service) employed at Magpul. You will usually get better pricing through the discount at DSG, however. Magpul has done a lot for the military, for example, they gave 1/24 100 20rd PMAGs for their DMRs before they deployed.
It isn't very becoming to phrase such a request in the way you did, I'd expect a Marine to have much more pride than that. |

Leading them to think that you believe yourself entitled to a break; just because some one else happened to have the same job as you. Semper |

No such thing as "Former Marine!" If you pass the standards and earn the title you ARE A Marine. Wrong. Your either active, reserve, former, retired,or ex. Ex = shitbird.
a good standing Marine is a Marine for life. There are former active duty Marines. The title Marine stays. |

Yea I'm a former MARINE. I'm not an active duty MARINE, I'm not an ex-MARINE.and I'm not a retired MARINE, and I'm not a reserve MARINE. The proper way to describe yourself if you have an honorable discharge from the United Stated Marine Corps is "former Marine". |

It means you are no longer a Marine. The appropriate term for a Marine no longer in the service of his country and Corps is "Marine veteran." ("Former Active Duty Marine" is acceptable too; but that's a bit of a mouthful.) |

ok I am game, I am an extremely active duty Marine! so take that
I have no problem with "former" or just Marine after retirement or EAS. Most retired guys or ones that get out, that I meet and talk with, introduce themselves as former Marine with _/_ unit as their last command or favorite. They all will say they are still a Marine at heart, I think we all can agree on that. So how about that discount, lol

"I'm a Marine" You say. "Oh really, how long have you been in" Says Joe shit the Ragman. "Oh, actually I got out in 199_whatever" "But I thought you said you are a Marine?" He says, "Well, you see Once a Marines always a Marine.....and then you go off on a 20 minute story about why the Marines are better than everyone else. OR "I'm a former Marine" "Did you get to kill anybody?" Basically you save 20 minutes of history lessons. |
