For those interested MagPul has a new version of the AFG. It has the forward upward flanges gone so that it will work with pretty much everyone's rail covers/panels. It's just straight across now much like how many of you have modified yours.

Just rail sections that attach to the MOE handguards, which are now available in midlength and rifle.
