| Anyone know 100% which upper receivers work with the BAD lever? I have a DPMS sportical upper and it doesn't work. I was looking at the VLTOR MUR but the groove the bolt catch rests in looks similar to mine. Any help would be appreciated from those who have alreay mounted the BAD lever on their rifle. Just trying to find out which upper to get to replace the one I have... |

Your best bet is to go with a traditional style upper. Uppers with unusual shapes where the top of the bolt catch is recessed, especially on the back or right side of the catch can pose problems. The Sun Devil is very similar to yours and it doesn't work. The Vltor, well the ad says it works, but it didn't work reliably enough on mine to keep it on - so I guess it's hit or miss on that one.
Problems can arise with lowers, too. The Tactical Innovations BDX doesn't work. The MP-22 doesn't work either. They have design variations that interfere. This is not a knock on the BAD. It was probably made to fit the most rifles and that would be those with the traditional design. |
| Those are nice uppers and at a pretty good price. I bought one earlier in the year and the BAD fits/functions great on it. While your at BCM's site, give some thought to the Gunfighter charging handle. It will enhance your abilities to use the BAD in conjunction with one hand racking of the charging handle. They make a great combination., |
