I'm planning to do some ultimate testing on a couple Pmags.
I only have one test decided on (3 story drop test ).
Maybe see how far I can throw it?... Lets get some good suggestions. Oh, I'll be making a video of the tests to post up, so you might just see your idea in action. Thanks! |

Will it blend? I'm not sure how I'll do it. All tests will be with the same Pmag unless failure prevents it. Any suggestions on how to do the video are also welcome. Thanks! I can't tell if you understood his suggestion or not. This is what he meant... Will it blend? |

Don't want to kill the blender, ya know... ETA: I'll do it if you supply one of those blenders! Holy crap!!! Those things are

Every now and then they have a stand set up at the local Costco, I'm tempted to buy one just to see how much shit I can destroy. Really though, I'd love to see that guy shove a PMAG into one of those blenders and see what happens. That would be the ultimate test, I think. Granted, completely unnecessary and irrelevant to actual PMAG usage, but it would be entertaining to say the least. |

If you wanna see it but don't want to spend the $ Blending the Pmag, buy one and have it shipped to me. IM me for shipping address. |

Fully loaded magazine. Leave the cover off. Put it in a REALY hot car, in direct sunshine, for a few weeks. Check daily for correct function (cycling and drop-free). I think you'd be better suited for that test. It doesn't get real hot in OR, not where I live anyway. |

Washing machine?
Dryer? Dish washer? Microwave? Not that your mags should ever end up in said places (except maybe a stray one left in your pants that end up in the wash/dryer somehow), but it'd be interesting to see the results! Make friends w/ the paint guy at Home Depot and put a loaded mag in an empty paint can in the shaker |

loaded, no dustcover, dropped in mud? What, exactly, would that be testing for? To see if the magazine can prevent mud getting on the rounds, or into the magazine body? Submerging the magazine in mud seems more like you are testing your rifles ability to function. with mud on the rounds. That does not seem to be a test around the toughness of the magazine. |

I've been very tempted to drop one out of my 28th story window..... ... good idea until some stranger on the street below stumbles upon a perfectly good, loaded Pmag and walks off with it :) I wasn't planning on loading it, and I would definitely have someone to retrieve it below. No fun to do the test if you can't see the results..... |

I'm planning to do some ultimate testing on a couple Pmags. Good luck, I had the same thoughts, but found that even with loads of intentional abuse inflicted, they just keep running and running. The below thread shows some of what I did, feel free to move past any of the abuse that I inflicted as it didn;t impeded function. The problem is that at a certain point, things become unrealistic, and what I did was past what I would consider realistic. PMAGs- Tested Past Destruction.... lots of pictures I have a MIL friend who ran over PMAGs with an armored 18 wheeler while in Iraq. The PMAG held up fine, just with a few scrapes. We both agree that at the test was beyond anything necessary, but he was tired of watching people do drop tests and running over it with "light" vehicles. |

Take a loaded mag and see if you can get a huge empty parking lot somewhere (or other paved surface) and an airbag from a car...launch the PMAG and see if it will function after it lands. (for reasons of safety so it doesn't come flying at you, I'd obviously suggest taking cover first, and possibly putting the airbag and PMAG inside of a concrete mold pouring tube from Home Depot or something similar to ensure that it doesn't move laterally in some freak accident) |
I don't know if any of this has been done, but here is my list:

I like these... >Stickman, I was planning on doing a dump truck test, drive over it. The truck weighs about 26K loaded, much heavier than a 7K lb chevy... Maybe put it in the dumptruck before loading it with rock?... Open to more sugestions.

Take two PMAGS.
Load them to capacity. Put a dust cover on one and not on the other. Leave them in a car to be subjected to daily heat and sunlight for over a year. Shoot with them occasionally just to refresh the ammo. Wait.... I'm doing that already... Well, no problems so far..... |
