This was brought up in another thread and I didn't want to highjack. But seriously, you guys ever toy with the idea of making something for bolt guns?
Maybe something similar to a McMillan stock but with Magpul's distinct creative twist? |
|
I keep thinking of what the stock would look like if they built one. It would have a aluminum chassis changeable skins. The butt would have the pistol grip style stock something like McMillan and the forearms would be interchangeable. Forearms would be bench rest style , Manners type and maybe accept Larue Ar15 type rail .
A guy can dream can't he ? |

Are ACIS 20 round mag's still going for $85? I don't know that there are any 20 round AICS out there, but the 10 rnd mags are about that. If you could make some nifty polymer AICS clones, we would all love you more. If they were about $35, we would REALLY love you. |

A magpul m700/ savage stock system would be awesome! Not just a stock, but also a baseplate/ detachable magazine system. I would give valuable portions of my anatomy for a modern .308 equivilant of the Enfield Jugle carbine. How nice would a m700 mount be if it included an adapter for AR products like the shotgun adapter? Maybe even make a deal/colaberation with Remington to offer a 700 in .308 with an 18" barrell? |
|
I suppose similar in configuration, but in .308, a shorter barrell, and a lower powered scope. I want something handy and able to be used for alomst anything. Kind of a re-imagining of Cooper's Scout Rifle without breaking the bank. Also, I have always wondered about the much hoped-for M14/M1A PMag. My personal assumption was that they were worried about wear of the metal magazine catch against the lockup lug on the magazine. If that was the case, then I shouldn't Magpul be able to produce a replacement magazine catch/release out of polymer for the M1A? Oh, and the Rem 700 system I am hoping for could use M1A magazines! (see how I tied that in? |

I believe the receiver itself on a 700 would have to be modified to work with M14 magazines. Quite a bit of the feed lips would have to go. Thanks, but missing the point a bit. I was trying to lobby not just for a Pmag for a 700 system, but also for an M1A/M14 Pmag. |
