I was in one of the bigger and well known metro gun stores today browsing when I asked one of the guys behind the LE counter if they carried Magpuls.  He kinda grunted and thought a minute or two before he asked me "to refresh his memory" about what they were.  I explained that they aided in pulling a magazine from gear and described what they looked like.  Now the good part.  His reply was, "oh yeah those, well we can't get any of that new stuff in the store.  They are making it for the military only and sending them all overseas".

I don't know why but that is damn funny to me.  I just shook my head and walked away.  I guess I shouldn have told him how full of it he was and how available they are everywhere else huh.

Yeah, it just struck me as odd they would BS me on something so easy to find with such a stupid story.  I almost was waiting for him to tell me Delta was the one taking them all.  I've since found some the government must not have bought

Most of my shops around here are like that ("Don't sell much of that, you're the first person that's ever asked."), and even the ones that do carry decent stuff are comical. ("13 f***ing rounds man!" showing off the magazine and said to a guy who was purchasing his admitted first handgun.)

One of these days, I'm just gonna hang out and watch what they DO sell a lot of.

My gunshop here is the worst. Any customer that walks in is immediately considered a moron. Here's an example:  I'm buying a box of 7.62x39 and a box of 5.56, the old man asks "That all?" I ask if he had any stripper clips for the Mosin Nagant. He says disgusted, "That ammo ain't for the Mosin Nagant."  O RLY!?

I don't buy crap from them except military ammo cause they have it cheap. However, I am switching to Natchezz next paycheck. Just tired of being ticked off everytime I leave a gunshop because some old coot thinks I'm an idiot when I say 10% transfer fee is ridiculous on a $1,500 pistol. I swear, if I'm not buying duck calls or a 1970s shotgun wrapped in ducttape from him they don't want my business.
