Rich,

I've had my M93s for the better part of two years now.  They are the single best stocks on the market, bar none.  I also own Magpul Ergo grips, rail panels, Magpuls (original), and Ranger Plates.  I also see value in the upcoming Lumpy plates.

When I purchased the M93, it was being sold as part of a system: M94, M95, stock modules, etc.  Somewhere along the way, the system concept has gone by the wayside.

I understand how long things take to develop.  I have experience in machining and prototyping.  I'm not upset that the M94, M95, etc aren't out yet.  My disappointment set in at the 2005 SHOT show, where you displayed a prototype version of the M95 that didn't work on the MSS buffer tube!

Rich, your ideas represent new paradigms in the firearms world.  I'm disheartened by the fact that the time was spent to develop a prototype for a whole new system when you've been stringing people along with your existing system concept.

You owe me no justification, but having invested hundreds of dollars in Magpul products so far, it concerns me as to your apparent view of your obligations to people who bought your products as early adopters, based on a vaporware system.

If I could have my way, you'd ditch your stand-alone M95 and work on the M95 you promised people years ago.  Of course, you're too far into the development of it to stop now.

Keep the great ideas coming, but please remember those of us that bought into a concept based on faith.

You owe me no apology or justification.  You've provided me with the finest stock available, albeit under misguiding pretexts.  I'm sure I'm not the only person out there that feels let down to see you abandoning the original concept.

As I explained in another thread, the M95 version based upon a standard full sized buffer tube, was part of a OEM request by another manufacture for their submission to the Army's SASS (semi auto sniper system) program.

Because of the finicky nature of the AR 308 with a carbine length tube it was nessesary to based the stock upon a full length tube.

That said it does not mean that the M95 for the MSS has been shelved, it has not.

We are commited to the MSS program as originally concieved although it might take longer than we wish.

Keep cranking out the good stuff, Rich.  With all due respect to those who are disappointed that the additional platforms for the MSS have not been introduced, I would much rather see Magpul's technology in the hands of our men and women around the world who find themselves in harm's way than I would to see it in my hands.  As a civilian/recreational shooter, sure I'd love to have gotten my hands on an M95 a year ago, but I'll gladly wait in line if Magpul's products, for which it has dedicated additional time and resources that might have otherwise gone into the development of the M94 and M95 systems, can help defend this country and save even one American life!!!

Again, with all due respect...
ORD out...

I was unaware of the reasoning for the current M95.  That makes plenty of sense.

I'm glad you are still committed to the MSS program.  As I mentioned in my email, it's not the time frame that concerns me.

Keep up the good work.
