I ordered the M4 kit from Del-ton and had them switch out the 16" barrel for a 14.5" length.  This barrel has a 1x9 twist and chrome-lined.  Understand this...legal barrel length for civilians is 16".  For a 14.5" barrel to comply with these rules...you will have to have the flash hider/suppressor pinned and welded in place permanently.  All of this can be done by Del-ton when you place your order.

When you place your order...there is a comment section...be sure to add in there that you want to switch out the barrels 16" to a 14.5"
( no charge unless you want it chrome-lined).  Also...be sure to tell them to pin and weld the flash hider in place permanently ( i believe it costs $18).

Keep in mind that the falsh hider is on the barrel permanetly and will require you to take it to someone if you wan to remove it.  Something to consider if you want to customize the rifle later on.  Because of this modification I opted for the following when building this kit:

Del-ton M4 rifle kit, Specter low profile gas block. YHM Diamond rifle length handguard and YHM Phantom flash hider.

This allows me to change the handguard without having to take off the flash hider.  Since the Specter gas block is a two piece system...I can take it off without having to deal with the flash hider, if I needed to replace the block or the gas tube.  Let me know what you decided to do or if you need any advice...good luck!

Call the guys at Del-ton...they are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.  They're customer service is awesome!
