I'm looking to join the Guard and submitted my info via their website about a week ago.  How long does it normally take for a recruiter to call you back?  Is there something more I could be doing instead of sitting on my ass waiting by the phone?

Find the local recruiter or visit the National Guard armory closest to you.

Yeah man if you want a guard recruiter to get anything done for you you gotta go into their office and get in their face.

Find your closest office and walk in, take the initiative, show them your interested.

On the callback:
3 to 6 years. Is how long you will be getting calls even after you join another service.
My mom was getting calls while i was in Iraq, to see if i was still interested in joining the army. I had already been in for 2 years. I even got a call from the army after i got out of the Corps.

I got a call from the navy recruter every year-while I was at the AF academy.

He told me when it doesn't work out flying aircraft I could work on a sub  After graduation I told him to stop calling.

I drove over to the nearest office and it apparently is no longer there, unless it is well camouflaged, which kinda seems counterproductive.  I'll stop by the other one I found an address for.  Hopefully that one actually exists.

Like the other military branches right now, not much recruiting going on. But even when it was hot and heavy, you couldn't expect to get a response from the 1800 go guard .com because so much trash comes out of that site, that most recruiters just ignore any lead from that site.  The serious applicants would call a recruiter or come by
