| That is not one of the boat for the old MT46 is it? I beleive that may be what it is but I only have the new version of FM 5-34. I learned about them in OBC but we never saw one in person. We only trained on MGB, Bailer, and AFB. Went to WFEL about a year after OBC and saw the then prototype for the HDSB. I remeber thinking how much better it was than the MGB. Same company though. My boats when I was a PL were also made by WFEL. I will try to remember to swing by the museum after work and see if they have one out there. |

Nevermind not a M4T6 BEB. I gues the Mk 1 BEB was same design as current MK II. Nope, I only saw M4T6 in AIT (along with Bailey bridge). I worked with the "MAB" or "MOFAB" in my OP in Germany, plus Ribbon Bridge at Ft. Knox and Ft. Lewis. I loved those Bridge Boats with the dual Saber diesels and reversible jets. We always wanted to see if we could ski behind one, but never got around to trying it.

| I drove an armored vehicle across one of those floating bridges a long tome ago, couldn't tell you exactly what models they were because it was pitch black and I was just following the engineer ground guide and his green chem-light. But that thing scared the hell out of me, especially since I couldn't see the bridge and had no idea we would be crossing it until we rolled off solid ground and onto it! |

I might have been that guy with the chem light. IIRC, an M60 had a few inches on each side of the roadway, and we had to put the curbs down to cross M1s when they came out
