Gotta brag on the boy a bit.
He was the honor grad at EOD Basic School and is now the proud wearer of the Crab. Now moving on to his first unit. For a little background, he enlisted at 18 and went 18X. Finished SFAS but wasn't picked up. So now, at 19, he has finished Infantry AIT, Airborne, SFAS and EOD. Some major accomplishments. I am sure he will have more in the future |

Thank you for the update. He certainly deserves recognition for all that effort and accomplishment. I am surprised he didn't go to the 75th though. I suppose that option wasn't on the table. WE talked about his options. He just wasn't excited about being a bat boy or 82nd guy as a SFAS non-select. He had some concerns on a number of levels and ultimately I think he made the best call. |

I don't understand how one can finish SFAS and not be selected? Why even let someone go through the course and they passed that course and then not bring the guy into Special Forces? Whats the point of that? Life's a bitch - this happens a lot more with officers than enlisted. They take whom they want, it's their choice. |
