[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Any knowledge of this shoulder patch?

Obviously it's a Sgt. and I believe it's from the Corp of Engineers, but I dont know much else. My father found it in my late grampa's stash of "old" things. Apparently it was my grampa's uncle's patch. Does anybody have any idea what era it's from? WWII...WWI? Any help would be great, thanks!

Welp, I did some digging and found out it's from WWI. And apparently he was Sgt. 1st class, but in WWI, they didn't connect the stripes with the rocker. Pretty cool none less.

As a former 12B (21B now

) I would rather not have the castle. We worked side by side with our grunts.
