Gents,
What kind of boots you guys wearing these days? I've been rocking the old Panama soled Altama's, and I think it's about time for a change. I have been looking at Belleville's new 310 - the running shoe-esque contruction boot, in the Belleville brand. Anybody had any experience with these? Just curious to see what you guys are wearing. Thanks- |

been running the tall oakleys which are nice but my feet sweat a lot when i ruck in them. On that not oakley has just come out with a couple new pairs of boots that are better suited to hot climates.
some guys here have the nikes, if you can find them they are supposed to be the shit. blackhawks and 5.11's are around too. most people are wearing the belleview though, cheap $$ compared to the above. |

RFI issue Belleville 390DES for summer use-perfect.
I'm currently using some cheap, issue Wellco jungles with the sole like the Bellevilles for the field. They suck-just friggen aweful, but I got a couple pairs for free. Up here, you can't wear summer boots after 1 October. I didn't like the issue boots so I'm wearing the Danner TFX GTX, which has a little bit of insulation. Very comfortable, but it's not a severe cold boot. |

I thought this was going to be another SERE school thread. Oh, and speaking of which - I'm going to SERE school in a few days, what's it like????????? Just kidding. SERE was by far the best training and most fun training that ive done since ive been in the Corps. I cannot attest to what the Army SERE is like but im sure its as much of a Gut Check as the Navy/USMC SERE. Have fun!!! Back on topic our Bn this year got the go ahead to wear boots that traditionally most units dont let people wear. Like 50% of the Bn is wearing Oakley Boots. I myself didnt want to follow the crowd so i picked up a pair of Blackhawk Warrior Wear boots. The only word i can describe them with is absofuckinlutelyawesome. Yes i know that isnt one word however, in this instance it works. They are super-light and have a awesome comfort level. They required almost no break-in period at all. Ive been wearing them only the past 3 days and I can honestly say that i dont even have tennis shoes as comfortable as these boots. |

I wore them for a year in Afghanistan and they were by far the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Also when everything snowed over and froze, myself and one of our NCOs who also had them were the only ones not busting our azz on the ice. Zero break in time too. |
