It's "rappel",  not "repel" and I have no idea other than to correct your use of the word.

IIRC its not that high. You will go down backwards only probably.

In Korea, at the ROK Marine's Mountain Warfare facilty you will go down MUCH higher, Australian (face first).

Then you will walk out onto a VERY HIGH rope bridge in the wind. You will put your trust in someone you have never met, can't communicate with and frankly don't trust.  He will hook you up and you will jump off face first. After the initial terror from the inner monkey, the rest of the trip down is quite fun.

Then they will kick your ass at soccer. You can get them back by giving them American cigarettes and snuff, and watch them puke their fish heads and rice up.

I don't know that one. But Army rappell towers typicaly have a 20 ft slant wall, a 40 ft straight wall, and a 40 ft freefall wall.

Last tower I was at was 40', three rappelling sides: skid; straight wall, straight wall with windows.  Hollywood, combat, Aussie, slack rope Aussie, Commando were all good to go.  They had a few small slant walls over in a corner that I saw used.... once.

Yeah the slant wall is for training, to get people used to rappelling. It was mandatory in AASLT school, and some did it more than once to gain confidence.
