1997-2000: Three-star Trooper, 11th Cavalry Squadron, An Forsa Cosanta Aituil, Oglaidh na hEireann. (Irish Army Reserves). 2000-Present. 2LT, Armor. 1-149 AR, California Army National Guard. Not much military heritage in the family. Dad was a Three-Star Gunner in a mortar battery in the Irish reserves for a short stint, uncle was an aviation mechanic in the Hellenic Air Force, and grandfather was a minsweeper captain in the Hellenic Navy, fighting in the Greek Civil War. I'm told I'm loosely related by marriage to Michael Collins, which is an interesting family military factoid though. At least it's a bit different to most people's histories! NTM |

USMC 1966-1970
One Tour of Vietnam from Jan 67 through Jan 68, mostly in the North by the DMZ. Started out as a Grunt doing all night ambushes and later moved into the Office. My replacement was killed before I left country. I was only 19 it took about 10 years before it hit me, "There but by the Grace of God go I". You can't get around me for very long before you find out I am a Marine, Combat Vet and Love the USA. Here's one of the links I have posted to the Virtual Wall for you guys that haven't get to it; http://www.virtualwall.org/ds/SigmonHW01a.htm |

About 4 years ago during a site upgrade, any thread that was left tacked was at risk of losing data. I was the moderator of this forum at the time. I was not around to make sure this thread was untacked prior to the upgrade. I think 5 pages of information lost is an accurate estimate - maybe more. All I do know is that I was on page 5 or 6 and now I'm on page 1. You can blame me. |
||
|
I'm just "retired"! (Err, retarded... ) I did "little" compared to most, but I hope what I did made difference! I could tell some "stories" but won't... I'll add that my "baby girl" is now serving as well... Airman and proud! Middle son is now "on tour" of the lovely Persian Gulf on the USS Miami. Brother is now doing some "spooky" Army stuff with fixed-wing aircraft! God Bless ALL of you! B2 (ALSO, trying to figure out why I can't see the past 5+ pages? ) |

does that also account for the "extra" pages that are blank? Will the additional pages cause a premature "lock" for running out of pages? Can this programming error be fixed? I would think it should, it has to be in the code somewhere. |

11M 84-87 كافر Listen, this is gonna be one hell of a bowel movement. Afterwards he'll be lucky if he has any bones left. |
The number of extra pages is most likely the number we lost.
And I've asked goatboy several times to look into it - but when you're the only guy fixing problems on the entire website and getting "fix me" requests everyday, it's easy to let these things slip by. I have about 3 high priority requests in with him right now and they've been sitting on the warmer for the past two weeks. If I find a lull in activity, you can bet I'll submit the request a 4th, 5th, and 6th time. Again, however, it was my responsibility to ensure the thread was untacked. goatboy warned everyone but I wasn't around to untack it (late '03 / early '04). As far as the thread locking early: We have plenty of time to worry about that. Threads won't lock themselves until they reach 100 pages now. I imagine we have another 5 or 6 years before we get there. |
