This is a semi-hypothetical question regarding a married couple getting called up.

The husband is NG and is currently prepping for deployment to the sandbox. Not sure of the MOS.
The wife is an MP in the IRR. She just got activation orders.

Question - What are the wife's chances of remaining stateside in the following scenarios...
1) No kids.
2) Pregnant.
3) 1 small child.

Based on no other information or disqualifiers

1.) she will go where needed.
2.)  she will not be mobbed.
3.) Depends on the family care plan.

OK, I confirmed that the situation is #3. A 3yo. (Wasn't sure).

So what is the family care plan?

when you have a joint service couple, or a single parent - you are required to have a family care plan, that is what do you do if both of you are mobbed or deployed.  Remember the military operates under the premise that we all want to be in and thus the motivation to establish a family care plan is so you can stay in.  I have seen people that want to get out, intentionally not set one up.  At the last reserve unit I was in we were ordered to individually mob some people.  One woman showed up on M-day with her kids.  She claimed she had no were to leave them, she was not mobbed.

The family care plan is who takes care of the kids.

I have also seen UCMJ action taken for not having a family care plan in place IAW standing orders come MOB time.

I wouldn't think that couples with one reserve and one IRR would have to fill out a care plan until the IRR party received orders.

If both parents have any type of commitiment left, it is required, at least in our command. For the guard I am sure it will vary state my state.
