[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Weapon cnditions???Help

I have this old knowledge rattling around the back of my head and it is driveing me crazy. In the Marine Corp. there were 4 weapon conditions. i.e. bolt forward on empty chamber......Anyone know what I am talking about?

Anyone remember what those conditions were?

It has been so long.

Well, I'm no Marine yet, but I do know this.

Condition 1 -
Magazine inserted, bolt closed, round chambered, dust cover closed, weapon on safe.

Condition 2 -
Does not apply to M-16A2

Condition 3 -
Magazine inserted, bolt closed, empty chamber, dust cover closed, weapon on safe.

Condition 4 -
No magazine inserted, bolt closed, empty chamber, dust cover closed, weapon on safe.

Currently it is a color code for those who can't count.

Green - weapon on safe, mag in pouch

Amber - weapon on safe mag in magwell, no round in chamber

Red - weapon on safe, round in chamber, mag in magwell

Black - weapon off safe and sending ragheads to Allah.

Edited: Thats one thing I love about the Corp. Things don't change a whole lot. That must have been from twelve years ago. Unfortunatly they are probably still useing the same old radios too.
