The spot was "Ricks Lounge" and the "Cellar" when I was stationed there. Mrytle Beach SC is only 2 hours away and is well worth the drive. Raliegh NC is 1 1/2 hours away and is a big college town and a fun place to party. Check out Jim's Gun shop in Fayetteville and a restuarant called Kyoto's (if you like Japense steak house type food). Of course, I was there in the late 80's and things have probably changed a great deal.

I was there in 01/02 but I usually took of for the west end of the state to ride my dirtbike.  If you like gold Myrtle beach is good.  Raleigh isn't too far away.  The local gun shows are some of the best I've ever seen too.  I miss those.  The crime is pretty bad though.

I think it was on Yadkin but there used to be a very good little Greek restaurant right off the post and a little further down was a very good German pastry shop.

I doubt it's still there but we used to hang out at Neo's downtown and stare at the hippy chicks.

Go to Chappell Hill, stunning womenz (college botd).

When I was there (Pope) in the early 80's Hay Street was the strip. It's long gone now. I was just at Pope AFB today. I saw a hole in the wall bar I hadn't seen before, It was called "FUBAR". It was somewhere in Spring Lake, I can't recall exactly where. There is also a fair gun shop in Spring Lake not far from Manchester Rd.

I left bragg just about two years ago.  The drinking establishments change every month.  The Palamino and the ajoining club were rockin when i was there. There wasn't what i could call a good gun shop in spring lake, at least that i knew. I lived in spring lake, and tried to get an ar, and decided that it was a bad idea to try that so close to a base, with deployed joes, who come back with lots of money.  Bragg is kinda messed up during deployments, the money leaves for the most part, besides the car, bike and gun dealers, the town around bragg kinda dry up.  Its an ok area, comming from a upper middle class northeast town, i almost cried driving down bragg blvd for the first time, cause it looks that bad. It grew on me, and i have many fond memories of the area.

Hey CA, which battalion you with? I'm with the 96th here at Bragg. Not a whole lot to do here if you're just passing through and can't bring all the fun toys. Most of my hobbies involve boats and guns and the woods, a lake, or the ocean or just kickin back at abuddy's with some beer and movies or video games.

Kyotos is still here, good food. FUBAR is on 210 north of Bragg Blvd towards Lillington, I go by it on the way in and the way out every day. Haven't ever been in there though. It's mostly a biker hang out, was named something else a couple of months back. Spring Lake has a decent gun shop, Guns Plus. Guys that work there are pretty good, prices are average. Range is nice. Greek place and German place are still there. I think Rick's is closed. Never heard of Neo's. I'm not as much a fan of Fayetteville as I am the location in regards to other stuff around the state to do, and close to the beaches.

Anyway, my wife left for Afghanistan last Tuesday so I don't have much to do, if you get bored drop me a line.

BTW there's a gunshow at the crown Feb 3-4. The show here is kind of hit or miss but I go every time. If you feel like checking it out and need a ride let me know.

I met Joan Jet and the Blackhearts outside of Rick's lounge (changed locations back in 94 or 95). The Celler was still there. I was partial to The Bottom's Up myself but then I am a dirty bastard...lol.

I still own a house in Fayetteville. The renters have moved out so if you knoww anyone (hint hint).

Neo's was fun as well. There used to be a bar called MG's out in Spring lake, and there were two little bars outside the back gate of Pope.

Oh! then there was the Cue & Ale. Had fun there too.

the thai place on yadkin aint bad.  ITZ on a Saturday night isnt a bad place to go lookin for some womenz if you dont leave fayetteville for the weekend.
Jims pawn is the biggest rip of around so dont buy any guns there and that place on bragg blvd in spring lake is a rip off as well.  cant remember the name of the place.
The e-club and also the sports place on longstreet, are a good place to get shot or in a fight on a friday night.
