I found this one at another website. First he claimed to be a F-16 pilot, at my base. He got outed on his not being a pilot, when his pilot training bases and dates were WAY wrong (he said he trained at Reese AFB, TX, which has been closed for 10 years...). Than he claimed to be an OSI agent from my base. He couldn't answer basic questions about his workcenter's surroundings (like what building is across the street). Oh yeah, he claims to be an officer too. People like that really piss me off. Why do people even pretend to be in the military? |

they just wanna be cool like us my theory they realize that they havent accomplished jack in their life. so they act like they "Served Their Country" and did a good thing. I dunno who is worse the liberals or posers, both are spineless commie bastards as far as im concerned |

Most of the ones I've dealt with either seem to have a mild mental illness or have a low IQ. Either way, they were probably picked on pretty bad as kids so as adults they make up these fantasy lives as a defense. " Nobody will mess with me if they think I'm a SEAL/SF/RANGER/SNIPER/RECON/SPY." I'd feel sorry for them if it didn't piss me off so much. |
| Ive dealt with posers for over 30 years now. In the 70s they were all green beret Vietnam combat vets. Back then, nobody knew what SEALs were. Once Hollywood started producing SEAL flicks, then all the posers were SEALs... Im not an SF tabbed buy but Ive been an Intelligence Officer for 24 years(retired now), about half of that assigned to various special operations commands. I know how small the SOF community really is. It's not likely that a modern day guy has served in a real SOF unit and doesnt know at least some people I know... So I always start by asking them if they know so-and-so, If they dont I know they are BS artists (most of the time). I think these people definitely have self esteem problems, possibly deeper mental problems. It bothers me alot because I served in Afghanistan and I know how hard it is, just to live in a place like that. Most of these dumbasses couldnt get thru a year of JROTC much less live in field conditions for a few months... |

A guy in the news here locally was fingered for being a poseur. He claimed he was a Navy SEAL, among other things. A vet A&P mechanic he hired had his number real quick and contacted Veri-SEAL, an online community that's dedicated to outing poseurs. His employer seems to be tied up with illegal weapons and also now embezzlement to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. www.adn.com/news/alaska/security_aviation/story/7645525p-7556233c.html |
